While I do not sell any one product exclusively, I do have my favorites.

One such favorite is

Stan's offer both TriY and 4 into 1 headers.

TriY are believed offer a fatter torque curve below 4500rpm, but the guys at Stan's tell me they make their TriY design to work to 6000rpm.

As with any performance engine component there are variables to confuse the issue, and personal preference is also a factor, but as a general rule for the street TriY will provide stronger acceleration.

Here is what Stan's Headers have to say on the subject...

In Stan's "TRI-Y DESIGN" headers, the primary tubes are paired in a 4-into-2 and 2-into-l formation. This increases the cylinder scavenging effect and improves engine breathing by utilizing the exhaust velocity of one cylinder to help the exhaust velocity of another.

WHY "TRI-Y" HEADERS

Tests have indicated that the late model vehicles with lower operating RPM ranges function (Scavenge) more efficiently with the " TRI-Y DESIGN". Stan's "Tri-Y" headers were specifically designed for these engines. While 4-tube headers are well suited for some applications, the "Tri-Y Design" is significantly more effective on most street and off-road applications including the late-model, low-compression "Big Blocks".

Most headers come "Industrial" chrome plated and we also offer Ceramic coated headers as well. Most of our headers are a "TRI Y" design. This makes more horsepower and torque up to about 5500 R.P.M. We still make custom headers and custom build special exhaust systems for vehicles that we don't make production sets for.

Stan's headers are 16 gage tube (heavier than most) except when code is "5" or when ending in -14 (these are 14 gage .083 tube with 3/8" flanges). All headers are ground flat on all gasket surfaces. All part numbers ending in "Y" are "TRI_Y DESIGN" for more horsepower and torque for RV, street or towing.

We make regular headers and exhaust as well as a line of extra heavy headers with extra thick flanges. Most headers come "Industrial" chrome plated and we also offer Ceramic coated headers as well. Stan's now offers stainless steel headers! Built with 3/8" thick. For a little extra they can be polished to an eye popping shine!

 

These headers last a long time and are a little quiter.
